What have
previous
participants said
about the program?
I had such a great time and had an AHA moment when I got home. It
was this, "Hey, that whole fun seminar was actually practical
marketing lessons in disguise! It was so much fun and whimsically
inspiring, that I didn't realize how truly practical it was until I
got home. Barbara...you really know how to make learning about
business painless! ~ Lynn, NY
When I returned home today I was very tired. I stopped at
Starbucks for a boost and picked up some dinner. At home, in
between bites, I was just babbling away. Bob, my husband, sat there
with his head spinning. Finally I took mercy on him and stopped
talking. He stood up, took me in his arms, looked at me with a
smile and said, "I know you are tired, but you're just sparkling,
not like when you some home from work tired." What could be a
greater affirmation that this week and that the path I am on is
RIGHT. ~ Sandy, NJ
Thanks again for putting together the most amazing seminar I've
ever attended. You are a Wonder Woman for sure! ~ Susan, TX
The Storytelling seminar exceeded my expectations. I was able to
find a voice and purpose for my business and myself. I reconnected
with what I really want to give to this world and the seminar helped
me put it into words. ~ Nicole, MN
It may take me quite awhile to
assimilate all that I learned,
but I have your workbook to refer to which helps a lot! Thanks
again for a mind-blowing, stimulating, and entertaining workshop.
It is so much FUN to be a self-bosser!!
~ Tricia, NV
What a great three days of learning and reaching for new ideas I
had at your fun, intriguing, and inspiring seminar, Compelling
Storytelling, in Vegas! Yes, he who resisted with so much whining
about having to go to that god forsaken artificial environment of
Las Vegas came away a convert of not only the city and the natural
beauty surrounding it, but also of YOU and your winning way of
running a damn good seminar even when you felt so under the weather!
Thank you for creating the opportunity for me to see with new eyes
the story of my blind rehabilitation practice, Invision Services,
Inc! Thank you even more so for allowing me to unearth the real
story of my own self and my passion for writing buried under the
layers of rock-headed resistance for 30 some years! ~John, NC

Isn’t storytelling about making things up? What’s that got to do
with running a business?
When we hear the word “storytelling” we might immediately think
of fiction, but a closer look reveals that we’re all telling a story
in our lives and most certainly in our businesses. It just makes
sense, then, to understand what makes a good story and how to tell
it in the most intriguing way. While we may borrow some techniques
from fictional tellers, it’s only to make our own true stories come
alive. As Michael E. Gerber, author of the E-Myth series, points
out, “I dare say, all successful entrepreneurs have loved the story
of their business. Because that’s what true entrepreneurs do: They
tell stories that come to life in the form of their business.”
Who is this workshop designed for?
Been wondering if Compelling Storytelling would be an asset to
your entrepreneurial journey? Here are a dozen signs that it would
be a good fit for you:
• You get a knot in your stomach when asked, “So
what do you do?”
• You were warned as a child that it’s not nice to
blow your own horn
• You feel like a broken record (remember records?)
when talking about your business
• You’d start a business if you could avoid
marketing
• You have a business, but marketing is mostly seen
as a crisis activity
• You want people to know that you’re trustworthy—or
whimsical
• Your marketing needs a little tune-up
• You love spending time with creative, inspired
entrepreneurs who are on your side
• You wonder if you’re too old for MySpace, YouTube
or the Blogosphere
• You want to expand your story repertoire
• You love the idea of attending a Cirque du Soleil
show and having it be a legitimate business expense
• You ramble and don’t know how to stop yourself
Where should I stay?
The event is being held at the Embassy Suites and I highly
recommend that you stay there. We have a small block of rooms
reserved at a discounted rate. Once you register for the seminar,
you’ll be sent details on accommodations.
Do I need to rent a car?
Probably not. The hotel is a few blocks off the Strip and we will
be making a couple of field trips there, but sharing a cab with
other seminar participants is the easiest way to get around. We’re
also a short walk from the Monorail station.
What’s included in the enrollment fee?
The fee includes the 3-day seminar, seminar handbook, ticket to
Cirque du Soleil’s Mystere and dinner the final evening at
Marrakech. Other meals are on your own.
When does the Early Bird enrollment close?
The
last day to receive the discounted enrollment of $477 is October 25,
2008. Rooms at the Embassy Suite must be booked before November 2 to
get the special rate.
Will there be time to explore Las Vegas?
Our seminar days run close to twelve hours. The first night,
you’ll be working on a project with a small group. The second night
is theater night. The dinner on the final night will be early (6-8
PM) so there will be time that evening to be a tourist
Is there any follow-up after the workshop?
If the group wishes, we’ll do a teleconference several weeks
afterwards to hear how you’re using the new ideas from the workshop
and answer any new questions you may have.
It’s not unusual for people to find new entrepreneurial friends
that they stay in touch with long after the event has ended.
